Biofield Tuning

What is Biofield Tuning?

Biofield Tuning is an acoustic sound therapy method that uses tuning forks in the human energy field (biofield) to locate and clear blockages, reduce stress, and restore balance. By harmonizing your body's electromagnetic field, it can help release stuck emotions, boost energy, and support physical and emotional healing. Think of it as "tuning" your energy like an instrument—creating more clarity, flow, and resilience.

Is it new? Where did it originate?

Biofield Tuning is relatively new, developed in the early 2000s by researcher and sound therapist Eileen Day McKusick. While sound healing itself is ancient, McKusick’s method is unique—based on over 20 years of research into the body’s electromagnetic field (or "biofield"). She discovered that specific tones from tuning forks could detect and shift imbalances in this field, which often correspond to emotional or physical trauma. The practice has since grown into a recognized form of energy therapy used worldwide.

How is it different from other sound healing or energy therapies?

Biofield Tuning stands out because it works directly with the body's electromagnetic field using tuning forks as a precise diagnostic and therapeutic tool. Unlike general sound baths or Reiki, practitioners "listen" to the biofield for dissonance—like static in your energy—and use sound to locate and clear stored stress, trauma, or emotional blockages. It’s like sonar for your energy field—targeted, specific, and incredibly effective at helping the body shift from stuck to balanced.

Can it help with physical pain or just emotional issues?

Yes—both! While Biofield Tuning is often known for releasing emotional stress, many people also experience relief from physical pain and tension. That’s because stuck emotional energy can create patterns of imbalance in the body over time. By clearing blockages in the biofield, the nervous system can settle, muscles can relax, and the body’s natural healing processes get a chance to kick in. It’s all connected—mind, physical and emotional bodies.

What can I expect during a session?

During a Biofield Tuning session, you’ll lie fully clothed on a treatment table while the practitioner uses tuning forks around your body—often starting at your feet and gradually working their way through your energy field. You'll hear gentle tones and may feel sensations like warmth, tingling, or emotional shifts as the sound interacts with your biofield. The practitioner “combs” through your energy to find areas of tension or distortion, then uses the sound to help your system release and re-harmonize. Sessions can be deeply relaxing, often leaving you with a sense of clarity, lightness, and calm. It’s very important to arrive well-hydrated and to continue drinking plenty of water after your session, as proper hydration supports the body’s ability to process and integrate energy shifts—just like with all forms of energy work.

Is Biofield Tuning backed by science or research?

Biofield Tuning is an emerging field rooted in both personal experience and growing scientific interest in the human biofield. While traditional science is still catching up, research in fields like biofield science, quantum biology, and energy medicine supports the idea that the body emits an electromagnetic field that can influence health. Eileen McKusick, the founder of Biofield Tuning, has spent over 20 years researching and documenting consistent patterns in the biofield—and published her findings in the book "Tuning the Human Biofield." So while it’s not yet mainstream, it's part of a powerful wave of science-meets-subtle-energy approaches gaining attention for their real, tangible results.

Do I have to believe in it for it to work?

Not at all. Biofield Tuning isn’t about belief—it’s about how your body and energy system respond to sound. Many people come in curious or even skeptical, and still experience real shifts—like deep relaxation, emotional release, or relief from physical tension. Your energy field holds patterns, and the tuning forks simply interact with those patterns, whether or not you “believe” in them. So if you're open to trying something new, your system will take what it needs—no belief required.

How many sessions do I need?

The number of sessions needed can vary from person to person, depending on your specific goals and the state of your biofield. Some people feel noticeable shifts after just one session, while others may benefit from a series of treatments to address deeper or more chronic issues. Typically, a few sessions can help you start seeing consistent improvements in your energy, emotional balance, or physical well-being. Your practitioner will work with you to create a personalized plan based on how you're feeling and your progress.

Do I need to be present or can it be done remotely?

Biofield Tuning can absolutely be done remotely! Like Reiki, which has been effectively practiced remotely for years, biofield tuning works similarly. While in-person sessions allow for direct interaction with your energy field, many people report feeling just as profound results during remote sessions. In a remote session, the practitioner will either connect with you by audio or video call. They guiding the tuning forks through your energy field from a distance. Whether in person or remotely, the work focuses on clearing blockages and restoring balance—distance doesn’t affect the effectiveness, as energy is not bound by time or space.

Who is Biofield Tuning best suited for?

Biofield Tuning is for anyone looking to improve their overall well-being—whether you're dealing with physical pain, emotional stress, or just want to feel more balanced and energized. It's great for those who are open to alternative healing methods, as well as people looking for a natural way to support mental clarity, emotional healing, and physical relaxation. No prior experience or belief in energy work is required—just an openness to experience something new!

Who is Biofield Tuning not suited for?

Biofield is not recommended during pregnancy Those with older pacemakers or implanted electrical devices People with a history of seizures Severe obesity (emotions may be held in the adipose tissue) Within 3 months of a concussion Individuals nearing end of life (difficulty processing detox responses due to a weakened immune system) Always consult with your healthcare provider if you have concerns or are under medical supervision.

Is there a possibility of a detox response afterwards?

Yes—some people experience a detox or Herxheimer response after a session as the body processes released energy and stored stress. This is a normal part of rebalancing. Common symptoms may include: Fatigue or feeling “off” Headaches or body aches Emotional sensitivity Digestive changes Temporary return of old symptoms These effects are usually mild and short-lived (a few hours to a couple of days). Rest, ample hydration, and self-care help ease the process.

Flower Essence Therapy

What is Flower Essence Therapy?

Flower essence therapy is a gentle, natural form of energy medicine that uses the vibrational imprint of flowers to support emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Each flower carries a specific energetic signature that can help shift patterns like fear, grief, anxiety, or self-doubt. Unlike essential oils or herbal remedies, flower essences contain no scent or physical plant material—they work on a subtle, energetic level to restore emotional balance and inner harmony.

What's it's history?

The healing power of flowers has been used for centuries by indigenous cultures around the world—including Aboriginal Australians, Native American tribes, Mexican curanderas, and traditional African and South American healers—to support emotional, spiritual, and energetic well-being. And their use very much continues to this very day cross-culturally! Modern flower essence therapy was formalized in the 1930s by Dr. Edward Bach, who developed the Bach Flower Remedies in England. Since then, the practice has evolved globally with systems like FES (USA), Australian Bush, Alaskan Essences and others. At Auric, we work with Dr. Terry Willard's flowers, having trained with the Wild Rose College of Herbal Medicine.

How do flower essences work?

Flower essences are a form of vibrational or energy medicine that work by interacting with the body's subtle energy systems—such as the aura, chakras, and meridians—to restore emotional and energetic balance. Unlike essential oils or herbal tinctures, which act on the physical body, flower essences address the underlying emotional and mental patterns that contribute to stress, anxiety, and other imbalances . Each flower holds a unique energetic signature, which, when ingested or applied, can help realign disrupted energy patterns. For instance, using a flower essence associated with calmness can help dissipate feelings of fear or anxiety by raising the individual's energetic frequency to one of peace and tranquility . The effects of flower essences may be immediate or unfold over time, depending on the individual's needs and the specific essence used. They are considered safe and non-invasive, suitable for people of all ages, and can be used alongside other healing modalities . We prepare our flower remedies using the traditional method, which involves brandy as a preservative. If you require an alcohol-free formula, please let us know and the alternative of organic apple cider vinegar can be used in it's place.

What can flower essences help with?

Flower essences are primarily used to support emotional and mental well-being. They can help with a wide range of issues, including: Stress, anxiety, and overwhelm Grief, sadness, or emotional trauma Fear, worry, or insecurity Low self-esteem or lack of confidence Difficulty with focus, motivation, or decision-making Life transitions, relationship challenges, or spiritual growth Because they work on the energetic level, flower essences gently shift the emotional patterns that may be affecting your overall balance and well-being.

Can I take them alongside other remedies and/or medications?

Yes—flower essences are safe to use alongside medications, supplements, and other therapies. They contain no physical plant material, so there’s no risk of chemical interaction. They work on an energetic level, making them a gentle complement to both conventional and holistic treatments. Please let us know if you require an alcohol-free remedy. We can use organic apple cider vinegar in it's place.

How will my custom blend be prepared?

Custom flower essence blends are created by selecting specific flower essences tailored to an individual’s emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. We will assess the your current challenges and goals, through a consultation process, choose the most appropriate flowers. These essences are then combined into a personalized formula to address the unique energetic imbalances and promote healing.

Can children or pets use flower essences?

If you’d prefer your child or pet’s remedy to be prepared with organic apple cider vinegar instead of the traditional brandy, please let us know. While the traditional remedy is highly diluted, this alcohol-free alternative is available upon request.
